My incredible kept rebooting... I took it back to the store and we tried three other phones and everyone of them would keep rebooting themselves... Another customer with one came in with the same issue while I was there... However, two other customer phones in the same little store was not having the issue. I ended up just returning it, but was wondering if anyone had noticed anything similar.

I'm having this same problem, and it is infuriating.  I signed up for this forum just to express my discontent.  It seems to happen every time I try to answer the phone or send a text.  I really hope a firmware update fixes this nonsense.  BOOOOO!!!!!

I'm having the same problem.  It's happened twice today, and at least once yesterday.  I check some other forums and it seems that people had the same problem with the Moto Droid.  Seems like an Android problem and not a HTC or Moto problem.  I also hope a firmware upgrade will help.  Hopefully we'll get some answers!

I had noticed this problem for the first 3 days I had the phone, it restarted just over a dozen times.  Since monday though, I have not seen it once.  Has anyone else seen the problem disappear?

Mine was doing the same thing but only once or twice a day.  think it still does but it's not enough to really mess up my day. Meerly a minor inconveniance, thaught it might be related to keeping the phone in my pocket or by constantly running programs without giving it time to cool down.
If you notice the phone gets hot from constant use because the cpu is getting hot and so is the battery.
My Omnia used to shut down when it would over heat. So this may just be a safety feature.

I dont think overheating is an issue...i mean I really hope a $500 piece of equipment wouldn't be made that poorly.  I doubt this is a problem, it must be software related.  Theres probably a bug somewhere that is causing it.  It's happened to me as well, but only 4-5 times since I got my phone on the 29th.

Still annoying nonetheless

I'm glad I found this forum.  My droid is awesome- no problems, but i notice it rebooted on its own about the second day of owning it.  I was thinking that is was some sort of cycling method built in, but it has progressively gotten worse.  It does it about four times a day now.  I just sent an email to HTC Tech Support about the issue and will keep you all informed on their response.  So far it hasn't affected my usage of the phone, it seems to do it when I haven't used it for a hour or too.  One thing I'm thinking is that I never turn it off, so maybe it reboots automatically as a result of that neglect.  I owned an Omina (horrible) before this and if I didn't restart it daily, it would hardly work at all.

I have just recently had this problem as well. It's as if the phone is over heating, but I have had it happen while my phone was in the freezer as well.  Could hear the double ding of the SD Card.  I took it into Verizon yesterday after my DInc kept rebooting for a 2 hour period, in which the only way to get it to stop was to take the battery out. Needless to say, not ideal for a Saturday when trying to figure out the plans for 3 friends birthdays.  However, when I got to Verizon I was.. we'll say... less than amused.. got to the counter explained what was happening, the lady looked up my account and said that I should have a new phone by Wednesday because they have to ship in a new one. No other questions, other than if I still had my Eris to use as a back-up.

I did ask if this was happening to other DInc's, and she said no, but with how quickly it all was handled, makes me wonder. But if it is true, and she hadn't seen this issue,  than I am very happy with the customer service I got.(Since I like to give benefit of the doubt, I'll go with this)

Before it got as bad as it did yesterday, and I thought it was a simple overheating issue, I was really disappointed when I thought that the DInc couldn't handle heat over 90 deg, and was going to be a real issue since I live in Texas, and our whole summer is over 90.

My HTC Droid Incredible 2 went into a reboot loop and will not stop unless I pull the battery!!
I left it out overnight and had the same problem the next morning. I took it o Verizon and the also said they hadn't seen the problem but ordered me a new one which I an to receive tomorrow. I can't believe I am the only one to see this reboot loop!!

After a couple months of having the phone since my last post, it seems the reboot has become more frequent.  Still just a minor inconvenience but for what you pay this shouldn't happen at all.  Calling verizon today for a new one.

Same deal.  Keeps rebooting.  Have to take battery out. Put battery back in.  More rebooting.  Really disappointing.  I don't know what to do.  What do I do???

I'm having the same problem with my Incredible rebooting. Last time I was at Verizon they said I may have too many apps running, which cause it to overheat, then reboot. I'm going to print this thread and go to Verizon tomorrow to talk to them.

My Dinc rebooted randomly when I initially recieved the phone in June.  I went a month and a half before the dozen reboots this week.  It happened 3 times in a row last night.

I kill my apps constantly.  It is always on and I rarely reboot it on my own.

The annoying this is that it opens numerous battery sucking apps each time it recycles.

How much do you want to bet that the folks at the local V-Store will not have heard of the issue?!  Time to test them.

Update:  After punching in 25 digits to the Verizon VRU only to get transfered to a non working number, I called the store.  They encouraged me to come in.  Of course, Jason has heard nothing about any Dinc rebooting issues.

I got the Droid Incredible three weeks ago, and from the beginning I noticed it would reboot about one or two times a day.  Today it went into a reboot loop that does not seem to stop.  I took out the battery two times,
every time it powers up it goes into a reboot loop. If anyone has a fix other than changing the phone, I'd really appreciate it.

I've been really busy, so I haven't been to Verizon yet. Just today my HTC heated up and reboot 4 time in a row. I had to pull the battery, but it kept on rebooting. I pulled the battery and kept it out until it cooled down. I'm always killing apps just before I start using it to surf the web or go to android market. I print this up again and show it to them to prove I'm not the only one.
