I found 2 really useful apps today to solve 2 of my frustrations with the Incredible.
The first is Vlingo, from
www.vlingo.com. This is the voice command app the Droids should have come with in the first place. Vlingo lets you not only do voice commands for calls, texting, e-mailing and searches, it also has good voice recognition for text entry. The other cool thing it does is recognition of the commands "cell", "home" and "work" for voice dialing. For example, say "Call John Smith cell" and it goes right to John Smith's cell number. Now the Incredible really is a hands-free PDA. No, it's not free, but it's definitely worth the money.
The other cool one is found on the Android Marketplace. It's called Better Contacts. This app lets you alphabetize your contacts by last name first, just like most e-mail programs. Again, it's not free, but is a good investment.
One other thing to note is that these 2 apps play well together. Better Contacts still lets Vlingo make phone requests using first name first, such as "Call John Smith cell".
For me, these 2 apps make my Incredible truly incredible.
